The Stop Motion Film Workshop is an activity aimed at young people between 7 and 15 years old who want to experience creating a film from scratch. It is a cycle of 4 independent workshops, each lasting 2 hours, which can be taken separately or as a complete itinerary. Thus, each participant can sign up for only the workshop that interests them most or experience the complete process of animated film by attending all four.
The sessions will be on Saturdays from 10 am to 12 pm, in the spaces of the CineCiutat, within the Escorxador de Palma enclosure, and will be facilitated by the film's educational team, with experience in audiovisual training and collective creation.

15/11: Introduction to cinema: “Educating the eye”
This first session is an immersion in the world of cinema. Through games and practical examples, participants will discover how images come to life when projected one after the other. We will talk about audiovisual language (shots, movements, light, sound) and explore the stop motion technique, seeing how inanimate objects and characters can move frame by frame. The goal is to arouse curiosity and understand that cinema is a way of observing and explaining the world.

11/22: Idea, guide and storyboard
Parting from the imagination of the participants, it is proposed to create a small story that will then be converted into a film. They will learn to structure an audiovisual story, to define characters and scenes, and to visually express the various ideas using a simple storyboard. This session connects creativity, narrative and visual thought.
11/29: Pre-production: decoration design and character creation
With the story already defined, we will move to the pre-production phase. The participants will design and build the decorations on the basis of the action and will model their characters using simple materials (plasticine, cardboard, paper, etc.). They will learn the importance of prior preparation and team work, developing manual and expressive skills.
11/29: Pre-production: set design and character creation
With the story already defined, we will move on to the pre-production phase. Participants will design and build the sets where the action will take place and model their characters with simple materials (plasticine, cardboard, paper, etc.). They will learn the importance of prior preparation and teamwork, developing manual and expressive skills.

12/13: Filming and editing
It's time to bring the story to life! We will capture images frame by frame, learning the rhythm and patience that stop motion animation requires. Finally, we will edit the sequences to see how the ideas take shape on screen. Participants will be able to view their work and share it with the rest of the group.
