Madrid, 1933. After murdering her daughter Hildegart, Aurora Rodríguez turns herself in to the authorities. In prison, she recalls the circumstances that drove her to commit such an atrocious crime. During her early childhood, Aurora, having witnessed frequent marital discord and the unquestionable subordination of women to men, conceived the idea of having a daughter whom she would raise to dedicate herself to fighting for women's liberation. She sought a healthy, intelligent man who would agree to renounce his paternity of the child. Hildegart turned out to be exactly as her mother had imagined: while still almost a child, she joined the Socialist Party; at the age of 16, after completing her Law degree, she began studying Medicine, and was already writing articles and books. By 18, she was already highly popular in intellectual and revolutionary circles.
