On the coast of a small town in the eastern United States, a huge great white shark attacks several people. Fearing the dire effects this could have on the tourism industry, the mayor refuses to close the beaches or spread the word. But another shark attack ends the life of a beachgoer. When terror grips everyone, a veteran shark hunter, an oceanographer, and the local police chief team up to try to capture the shark.
