Jose Antonio is 89 years old and is losing his memory, but he resists depending on others and giving up what he has spent a lifetime doing. Although his family forbids it, he convinces his friend Mindo, whom he hasn't seen in years, to go fishing on the boat. The outing gets complicated when they run out of gas and, with night and fog descending, they are left adrift in the middle of the sea. Trapped in the tiny boat, the journey turns into an unexpected voyage about old age, friendship, and how to accept the passage of time.
